LOGO EXPLAINED

When designing and coming up with the concept of my logo, I envisioned something that would represent my own healing journey; the journey that gifted me the lessons and insights that empower me now; the journey that brought me to the place that I am today. I am so in love with it and am forever grateful to the mystically creative @ododua.aum for making my vision become an even more exquisite reality, definitely check her out!

The elements of my logo explained:

  • Sun and the Moon: To represent balance, light and darkness, love and fear, yin and yang, feminine and masculine, chaos and creation; the duality of life. We are each made up of our own light and shadow, and we must learn to embrace both and explore the value in it all. This was one of the harder truths in life that I have found on my journey, and I am still learning to love those more complex and darker sides of me.

  • The lotus flower: Out of the mud, a dark and sticky place, blooms a flower so magical and open. The nutrients that are found in the darkness of the mud are necessary for the flower to grow and evolve into the glorious bloom that emerges into the light; the insights and wisdom that lie in the darkness that we inevitably experience in life, that gift us the necessary lessons to reveal our power and magic as we recognize just how resilient we are.

  • Moth: Evolution and transformation. In order for the caterpillar to transform into a butterfly or moth, it must enter the cocoon and go within. This is also true for our own transformation, before we can emerge as the beautifully magical and powerful butterfly or moth that we all are, we must go within ourselves and dive into our own cocoon. Our cocoon is full of all that we tend to avoid and suppress, such as any fears or limiting beliefs that are holding you back and keeping you stuck and stagnant. I opted for a moth rather than a butterfly, because they come out at night and move through the darkness, which seemed even more fitting!

  • Circle: This represents the cycle of life, death and rebirth, endings and new beginnings and how things are all connected. It also represents how healing is never-ending as long as you live, for you are ever-evolving and always growing as you experience whatever comes your way.

  • Open palms: Her hands are open and facing up, in order to receive, open to what comes and not resisting what is and what lies ahead. It represents the willingness and openness required to dive in and do the work and heal.

  • Naked woman: I wanted her to be naked to illustrate the wild raw human that we all are beneath our clothes. Nothing covering her up, no masks or personas or characters, just her body and soul. As I was in the midst of some of my darkest moments, I remember having to shed so many layers that I had been hiding behind, and so to represent that shedding, I didn’t want her to be layered in anything. I also chose a woman, because that is how I identify and how I have been socialized and so it carries it’s own weight as an identity in our world. I also work with women.

  • Eyes closed: To indicate going within. Healing is all about coming back to yourself, diving within you and looking at those parts of you that aren’t the easiest to face. You are coming home.

  • Dots: These represent all of the experiences and people that make up my story. All of the complexities and intricacies of what it means to be a human. We all have our own story, with characters and plot lines and dramas and endings and beginnings. These illustrate all of those unique truths and events in our lives that impact us and shape us into who we are and influence who we are becoming.

LUJUNA explained: LUJUNA is a combination of my siblings’ names, along with my own; My name is Lucia (LU), my brother’s name is Julian (JU) and my sister’s name is Elena (NA). This is our family name and so I wanted to carry it on and honor my roots. It is pronounced Loo-hoo-nah, taking on the Spanish pronunciation of the J as a soft h.
